Thank you for your interest in the Tangerine Road Improvements.
During the week of July 9, the contractor will begin work to complete utility adjustments along east and westbound Tangerine Road from Shannon Road to La Canada Drive. Motorist should anticipate intermittent lane restriction in the work area. Restrictions are typically in place for 24 hours to allow the concrete time to cure before traffic is permitted to drive over it. Utility adjustment work will be ongoing through the end of July 2018.
The contractor is also completing landscape installation throughout the corridor. For the safety of crew members working near live traffic, motorists should watch for intermittent lane restrictions in the work area. Landscape installation will be ongoing through August 2018.
The speed limit, from La Cholla to La Canada, will remain at 35 MPH until the above detailed work is complete.
In the event of mechanical or weather-related issues, the above schedule of work could change without notice.

During the week beginning June 11, the contractor will complete the final paving operations along Tangerine Road from east of the Thornydale Road intersection to just west of La Canada Drive. Work hours will be from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each weekday. The paving operation is scheduled to be complete by Friday, June 15, 2018.
The work will include:
- Placing the final lift of pavement on La Cholla Boulevard north and south of, and through the intersection of Tangerine Road.
On Monday, June 11 and Tuesday, June 12 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, the contractor will place the final lift of pavement along north and southbound La Cholla Boulevard, up to the Tangerine Road intersection. Because of the nature of this paving operation, sections of the intersection, will have temporary movement restrictions to vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
- On Monday, June 11, traffic will be shifted to the northbound lanes (east side of the roadway) while the contractor paves the southbound lanes.
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
- All turn movements will be permitted.
- Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic.
- Motorists will be redirected around the work area.
- Access to businesses in the area will be maintained.
- Travelers in this area should plan for delays and use alternate routes.
- Restricted travel movements through the intersections will end by 5 p.m.
- On Tuesday, June 12, traffic will be shifted to the southbound lanes (west side of the roadway) while the contractor paves the northbound lanes.
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
- All turn movements will be permitted.
- Flaggers will be on sight to direct traffic.
- Motorist will be redirected around the work area.
- Access to businesses in the area will be maintained.
- Travelers in this area should plan for delays and use alternate routes.
- Restricted travel movements through the intersections will end by 5 p.m.
On June 10 through June 14 the contractor will complete final striping at intersections and along Tangerine Road from Thornydale Road to La Canada Drive. The contractor will work from 8 p.m. to 5 p.m. each night to complete the work. Motorist should watch for lane restrictions around the work area.
Tangerine Road will open to two lanes of travel in each direction by the end of the day Friday, June 15, 2018.

Beginning Monday, April 16 Through Friday April 20, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, the contractor will pave the eastbound lanes of Tangerine Road from La Cholla Boulevard to just west of the La Canada Drive intersection. The contractor will also pave turn bays, side streets and the multi-use path along this portion of Tangerine Road. Motorists should plan on the following traffic impacts during this paving operation:
- Southbound turn movements to side streets may be delayed while paving equipment moves through the area and the pavement is allowed to cure.
- At least two turn bays may be closed at the same time. Motorists should plan to use alternate routes when possible.
- Side streets will be paved on Thursday, April 19 and Friday, April 20. Access from/to Tangerine Road will not be permitted from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Motorists should plan to use alternate routes on these days.

On Tuesday, March 27 through Friday, March 30, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, the contractor will prepare the eastbound lanes of Tangerine Road for an upcoming paving operation, between La Cholla Boulevard and La Canada Drive. As work progresses along the roadway, the side streets of Verch Way and Sage Brook Road will be intermittently closed while equipment passes in front of them. These closures are temporary. Motorists and cyclists should plan on using an alternate route during this operation.

On Wednesday, February 14 through Friday, February 16, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, the contractor will prepare La Cholla Boulevard for an upcoming paving operation. The following work will occur approximately 900 feet south of Tangerine Road.
- From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, traffic along north and southbound La Cholla Road will be shifted to the west side of the roadway and reduced to one travel-lane.
- Flaggers will be on site to direct alternate one-way traffic through the work area.
- Motorists will be driving on an unpaved road surface until the paving operation is complete. Paving is currently scheduled to begin on February 21.
- Speed limits are reduced to 25 MPH.
- The traveling public is asked to please use caution when driving on the unpaved road surface.
- Motorists should plan for delays.
- Through traffic and turn movements at the Tangerine Road/La Cholla Boulevard intersection will not be impacted by this work.

The contractor is working on landscaping and utility adjustment work along the east and westbound lanes of Tangerine Road from Thornydale Road to the end of the project, west of the Dove Mountain/Twin Peaks intersection. They are also working along north and southbound Thornydale Road. This work will continue in this area through early February, 2018. Motorists should expect intermittent lane restrictions around the work area. These restrictions may be in place 24-hours in order to allow concrete to cure prior to traffic being allowed over it.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday, January 21, through 5 a.m. Monday morning the contractor will put traffic control in place to shift motorists onto the newly paved westbound lanes at the intersection of Tangerine Road and La Cholla Boulevard. Travel lanes on La Cholla Boulevard, south of the Tangerine Road intersection, will be shifted to the west. There may be intermittent restrictions while this traffic control is set in place.
Traffic will remain in this new configuration while the contractor continues work on the eastbound (south-side) lanes of Tangerine Road.

Tangerine Road/La Cholla Boulevard Intersection Paving

On Monday, January 15 the contractor will begin preparing the roadway for paving operations at the intersection of Tangerine Road/La Cholla Boulevard. The following traffic restrictions will be in place from 6 a.m. Monday, January 15 through 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 16:
- Traffic will be shifted and travel lanes reduced to one-lane in each direction.
- The traffic signal will cycle through one direction of travel at a time.
- Right turns from westbound Tangerine Road to northbound La Cholla Boulevard are not allowed, all other turn movements are permitted
- Motorists should expect delays and use an alternate route when possible.
Landscaping and utility adjustment work along the westbound lanes of Tangerine Road from Camino de Oeste to the end of the project, west of the Dove Mountain/Twin Peaks intersection, will continue through January 24, 2018. Motorists should expect lane intermittent daytime lane restrictions around the work area.
As a reminder, please be aware of bicyclists and pedestrians in the area and ensure that dogs, horses and other animals are not in the construction zone to ensure the safety of all. Bicycles traveling through this area can use the full travel lane.
